Every Girl Needs a Good Pair of Jeans…

As you may have noticed, my post-baby style tends to rely heavily on denim. Jeans, to be exact. Sometimes — okay, most of the time — it’s just easier to pull on a pair of jeans as baby goes careening by on hands and knees. So I thought I’d do a couple of posts on how to rock your jeans, mom-style.

1. Casual but not frumpy.

I definitely rely on layers on top. Because you just never know what is going to transpire with baby in arm. Dark colors are also good, and I like how the pink top and heart balance out the tough girl vibe of these ombre jeans and booties.

I’m also in love with stacking a bunch of bracelets these days. Stay tuned for an in depth post on accessorizing, but for now let me just say, necklaces (think bending over to pick up baby, and ‘bonk!’ necklace to the forehead) and earrings are mostly out.

Here’s the details on this outfit: pink tee, Marshalls (old). heart print sweatshirt, Target. ombre jeans, nordstrom rack ($35 free people). booties, sam edelman via nordstrom rack ($25 clearance). bracelets, self-made and assorted.

2. Glam up your jeans.

I know it’s late April, which strictly speaking, might be too late for faux fur, but guess what? It’s still snowing here. So here’s to bringing some glam to your jeans.

You can’t really tell in the photo, but a hot pink lipstick adds a fun pop of color.

So: faux fur vest, JCPenny (I added the belt from another shirt). animal print white long sleeve tee, unknown. boots, DSW. jeans, Levis leggings (these are my favorite jeans and I wear them constantly). A worthy investment.
